Maintaining a good start

I remain incredibly impressed by the way you are working in lessons. I have been into several classes this week and have seen you working hard and making progress. Well done and keep it up! One of our values is achievement and within this, there is the statement: we do what it takes for as long as it takes. I am pleased to say that I am seeing this in lessons – it is important that we all work to maintain and improve these high levels. You do not get to the top, or stay at the top without putting in maximum effort all the time. Whilst I have seen you working hard, I will challenge you all to work even harder.

I would like to remind you all about the quote we have on the wall around the hub: success is never final, failure is never fatal. It’s courage that counts. I think this quote summarises very succinctly how we should all seek to work. We will sometimes be successful and sometimes we will make mistakes and fail. What we need in both eventualities is courage. Courage to want to remain successful and stay there, as this is not easy. Also, courage to pick yourself up, learn from any setbacks and move forward to be better in the future.

The weather will soon become more autumnal. We have asked our uniform supplier to make sure they have enough stock of out MRC jumpers. These are the only jumpers that are permitted in College.

I will finish this blog by thanking you all for your excellent manners around the building – please keep this up!
