Here at Midhurst Rother College we embed Pastoral Care into our values of Respect, Happiness and Achievement by creating an environment that is supportive and allows every student to develop holistically.
Within the school there is a culture of support, we encourage students to talk openly and build positive relationships with our compassionate and strong staff team. Every Year Group has a Pastoral Leader who oversees emotional well-being and personal development which is key to ensuring academic success. The Pastoral Leaders are supported by form tutors who provide a day to day student contact.
Alongside Pastoral Leaders and Tutors we have our team of support staff who offer planned individual care through such things as nurture groups and medical assistance as well as being skilled problem solvers!
We have a school counsellor who offers 1:1 sessions as well as group work, a school nurse accessible through the NHS, external counsellors and support groups linked to WSCC which allows the Pastoral Team to refer students for appropriate support.
Our ethos is one of positive communication and we endeavour to communicate openly with students and parents and to ensure the happiness and wellbeing of our students.
