Representing our College
This week, I will start be thanking all of you who represent our College. We have several sports teams, including rugby, football, netball, hockey and athletics. We also have an orchestra and many other music and drama groups who perform for us; the Winter Concert this week provides an opportunity for us to appreciate the talented musicians that we have at MRC. I’d also like to thank our House Captains, who are proud to wear their house ties and support the College.
Representing MRC isn’t just linked to those who participate in one of our teams. You all represent us all the time. We know and accept that we don’t get it right all the time, but it is important that you always make every effort to show yourself in the best way possible. I was very proud to show Dame Sally Coates, from United Learning, around the College last week. She leads all the Academies in the group. She saw you as I see you every day: working hard, dressed smartly, being polite and engaged in your learning. Thank you and well done.
Notices
This week is a little shorter for students. We have an INSET day on Friday and the College will be closed to students.
Our internal exams in the hall have now finished for Year 11, but we still have art and photography. Other year groups have classroom based assessments at the moment – please make sure you revise as your teachers tell you to.
No sports results this week – unfortunately we had fixtures cancelled due to waterlogged pitches at other schools!
Have a good week
