MIDHURST ROTHER COLLEGE STUDENTS SECURE PLACES AT TOP RUSSELL GROUP UNIVERSITIES

~ Sixth Formers set to attend top Russell group universities after securing an impressive set of A Level results ~

~ 39% of A Level entries achieved grades A*-A ~

~ 63% of BTEC entries achieved Distinction*-Distinction ~ 

Students and staff at Midhurst Rother College are celebrating today as Sixth Formers confirm their places at high-quality university destinations, after receiving an excellent set of A Level results.

Sixth Formers saw their hard work recognised with 39% of A Level entries achieving grades A*-A and 63% achieving grades A*-B. Similarly impressive, in their BTEC studies, 63% of entries achieved Distinction*-Distinction, equivalent to the top A Level grades.

Students also displayed their prowess in STEM subjects with 86% of entries achieving A*-A in Computer Science and 75% of entries achieving A*-A in Mathematics.

Among the Sixth Formers celebrating, standout successes include:

  • Matthew Grzywacz, who achieved four A*s in Further Maths, Maths, Computer Science and Physics, will be attending the University of Warwick to study Mathematics.
     
  • Ethan Sharp, who achieved three A*s in Further Maths, Maths and Physics, will also be attending the University of Warwick to study Mathematics.
     
  • Thomas Salter, who achieved two A*s in Maths and Computer Science and a Distinction* in Digital Media, considering a place at the University of Exeter to study Film.
     
  • Gwen Keuhne, who achieved two A*s in Textiles and Art and a B in English Literature, will be attending University of Arts in London to study Costume for theatre and screen.

Speaking about his results, Matthew said:

“I am thrilled with these results and getting in to my first choice university.”

Roger Burton, Assistant Principal at Midhurst Rother College, said:

“These are exceptional results which show the very high standards being maintained at MRC Sixth Form. All of us across the school are absolutely delighted for our students and wish them the very best of luck as they take up their places at university or on top-quality apprenticeships. We are very much looking forward to continuing to grow and strengthen our Sixth Form so that more young people are able to benefit from all that it has to offer.”

“I am incredibly proud of our students’ performances this year. They have shown real dedication to their studies and have achieved outstanding overall results. Our Sixth Form students are leaders in the school and I would like to thank them, in particular, for leading our charity work this year – raising several thousands of pounds for good causes. I would also like to acknowledge and thank staff across our Sixth Form team for their ongoing hard work and the enduring support they have shown to students.”
