Sixth Form

Ambitious, hardworking, and focused on success? We are and we hope you are too.

Midhurst Rother College Sixth Form offers a unique educational experience. We provide a wide range of traditional and vocational subjects at AS, A2, NVQ and OCR National levels. Whatever subjects you choose, you can expect to be taught with passion and skill by subject specialists. Our small class sizes mean that teachers will be able to give you individual attention to help you achieve your full potential. We are committed to finding the right courses and academic pathways for you rather than expecting you to fit into a narrow programme not of your choosing. We will support you as you make the transition from GCSE to your new courses and then on to university, but we will also have high expectations and you should be ready to work hard from day one.

You will be involved in the business of planning and organising a huge range of trips and activities throughout the year with the support of your dedicated Sixth Form Pastoral Leader. If you find yourself on our Sixth Form Council you will be involved in taking important decisions about how the Sixth Form works and is run. All these aspects will not only help to build UCAS points, but also to develop interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, all of which are vital in the workplace. We are looking for students who wish to be active participants in all aspects of learning and life at the College.

We ask our students to take part in a range of timetabled enrichment activities such as Sports Leader qualifications, extended projects, work experience, Young Enterprise, mentoring and buddy programmes, and community volunteering. You may also find yourself applying for one of two travel bursaries awarded each year and planning a trip to some exotic destination, or taking part in an international expedition to test yourself in one of the planet’s most interesting environments. The opportunities are enormous. In addition to this, at the end of Year 13, five students who have made the most academic progress (based on prior attainment not final examination results) will be awarded a cheque for £100 courtesy of The Gilbert Hannam Education Foundation.

Our students are happy to show you around Midhurst Rother College any time and tell you more.

I look forward to seeing you here for your post 16 studies.
