Beyond The Classroom
Students thrive in an environment where they are given the opportunity to develop their interests and find new ones beyond the classroom. Therefore a range of activities is on offer, including:
-
Sport (inter-house and inter-school competition as well as non-competitive activities);
- Art and Design;
- Drama (clubs and productions);
- Music (orchestras, ensembles, bands, choirs, concerts and productions);
- An extensive range of subject visits and field trips;
- Cultural visits, including theatre, museum and concert trips;
- Trips abroad (including skiing trips);
- Language exchanges;
- Duke of Edinburgh Awards (Bronze to Gold);
- World Challenge Expeditions;
- Science (including an Eco Club);
- Business and Enterprise;
- ICT.
Late buses are run to ensure all students have the opportunity to participate in after College clubs.
Leadership, service and responsibility are also strongly encouraged in the College through:
-
Service as Head Boy and Head Girl or as Sixth Form student officers in wider College life;
-
Student democracy (involving year councils, a College Student Council and representation in the West Sussex Youth Parliament);
-
Voluntary work (both in primary schools and in the local community);
-
Sports and community leadership courses;
-
Numerous charity and fundraising activities throughout the year.
